HISTORY OF JBL AUDIO

Lansing's close business relationship with Arnold Engineering, the company's primary supplier of Alnico V magnetic material, played an important role in JBL's early success. Arnold saw JBL as an opportunity to sell Alnico V magnetic materials into a new market. Over the next two decades, JBL's consumer line of loudspeakers (Northridge) gained more mass appeal. During this time, they also introduced a line of project speakers, the Everest and K2. Over the next two decades, JBL went mass-market with their consumer speaker line (Northridge). The company became a leading supplier to the tour sound industry, with their loudspeakers employed by touring rock groups and festivals.

Today, JBL products like the 305p MKII and Eon One Compact are used and loved by many. Since 1946, JBL has built its core philosophy around providing meticulous attention to every detail of system design. If a tool or technology doesn’t exist, JBL invents it.
